Good Morning Stefan,

Thank you for supplying the requested information, my colleague has passed on your enquiry and we have now had time to view these images.

Firstly I would like to highlight that Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care is a water based, silicone emulsion which has been used successfully in the market place as one of our more popular lines for many  years now. It will provide a transparent coating which will only improve the appearance of clean vinyl and plastic surfaces.

It contains no solvents, or aggressive components which will change the colour of vinyl surfaces.

Autoglym log and record all correspondence regarding our range and any complaints are investigated appropriately.  In this case, taking into account the age of the roof, our knowledge of the product and its capability, we are confident that Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care has not been responsible for the appearance of your roof.  As you are aware, the Mk1 Golf ceased manufacture many years ago, and being the original roof, the appearance shows it to have suffered a degree of deterioration from ageing.

Considering the age and appearance of your hood, we would advise you to seek specialist renovation expertise and regret that we do not carry this type of product within our range.
