  Stefan completed a renovation on a bungalow for my parents. I live at a distance so it required a lot of careful coordination and good communication. We corresponded via phone and email more than face to face and I was consulted every step of the way. Stefan gave us a clear timeframe for the job and this was completely adhered to which was vital for us and in my experience quite unusual! His workers were efficient and tidy and able to adapt and get around problems when they inevitably cropped up. As the job progressed there were several additions that I wanted to make to the job and Stefan was patient with me throughout! This meant that we got the outcome that we wanted and my parents were thrilled. His aftercare also impressed me as he was on hand to respond to little problem-shooting issues and queries that my parents had upon moving in. Again I really appreciated Stefan and his team completing the job properly. In the final stages I had some queries about the invoice and Stefan was fair and accommodating. All in all a good job well done!

  The guys did a great job in pretty quick time. The weather wasn't great and because was expected rain, they worked quickly and in a professional manner. With emphasis in tidying up and didn't leave until the job was completed. The last hour or so working under the rain. The roof looks great and I am sure will use their services in the future.

  We have been delighted with the job done by Stefan and his team. Our requirements were carefully discussed in advance and helpful suggestions were made. We were given a detailed quote for the work to be done, which we were happy to accept. The work was undertaken promptly. Whilst the work was in progress every care was taken to minimise the disruption caused. The carpenter was very friendly and explained what he was doing, going out of his way to offer further advice and help with the final finishing touches. We are now the proud owners of a lovely replacement set of banisters. We would be more than happy to use this firm for any future projects.

  We are delighted with all the jobs Stefan completed. He came across a number of unforeseen issues due to the age and construction of our cottage and kept us informed at all stages. Our new bathroom is amazing not least of all because of the advice and guidance Stefan gave us from initial design to installation and his attention to our budget restrictions. Stefan and his team were a pleasure to deal with, arrived on time, worked hard and cleaned up at the end of each day, all important things when you entrust a significant piece of work to a builder. Most of all Stefan demonstrated he cared about the job and us as customers and I would not use anyone else for any future work we have.Thank you Stefan.

  Stefan and his team fitted a ground level trampoline, moved a shed and made the area good. They worked in appalling weather conditions and within the specified hours we had agreed ( as we are a special needs home). I was kept up to date with work progress.

  I received an excellent service from S1 Builders and I am very happy with my new bathroom. It looks gorgeous. Stephan was very good at advising me as to the right fittings to buy and kept me informed with pictures and texts of how the job was progressing as I wasnt at home while the bathroom was being fitted. I was very impressed with how clean everything was kept in the house which is a difficult task when building work is being done. Everything was cleared away on completion of the job and true to his word he finished the bathroom within 5 days despite one or two problems he encountered along the way. I would certainly recommend S1 Builders.

  Stefan Nicholls is very willing, polite and a good communicator, I couldn't fault him. he seems to be able to turn his hands to anything, he's very versatile and his price is very fair.

  Very courteous and efficient Good problem solver We have a 200 year old house and he has carried out a number of internal alterations and bathroom installations to a very high standard. We are a guesthouse and we get many favourable comments from guests AND the enjoyengland.com hotel inspectors. He has also recently carried out a major lead roof replacement ( lead roofer was his sub-contractor). A very professional finish. I am trustee of a grade 2* listed building and have seen a lot of leadwork done there. Stefan Nichols work compares favourably. They have just also replaced a pantile roof and had a lot of unforeseeable end gable renovation to do at the same time.Their no-fuss and non-extortionate attitude is very re-assuring when problems come to light mid-contract. Not so with previous builders we have known!!!! There was a lot of leadwork to do on this roof by way of flashing and valleys etc. Again, it all seems to have been done very neatly and professionally. His pricing is fair and does not change every day because of minor alterations or problems. And every job has been finished on time. Excellent news when you are running a business like ours.
